Former ally sought to breed race of slaves
According to recently-released Kremlin documents, scientists in the politically-correct "paradise" of the Soviet Union carried out a series of experiments worthy of Dr. Moreau. On the orders of Joseph Stalin, later a Western ally, Soviet scientist Ilya Ivanov attempted to breed a race of sub-human "ideal workers" by cross-breeding apes with human beings. The mad plan aimed to fulfill Stalin's twisted desire for a physically strong, intellectually inferior class: "I want a new invincible human being, insensitive to pain, resistant and indifferent about the quality of food they eat," he said, according to The Scotsman, quoting Moscow papers.
After a 1926 Politburo edict, Ivanov's experiments, according to the report, "unsurprisingly from what we now know, were a total failure...A final attempt to persuade a Cuban heiress to lend some of her monkeys for further experiments reached American ears, with the New York Times reporting on the story, and she dropped the idea amid the uproar. Mr Ivanov was now in disgrace. His were not the only experiments going wrong: the plan to collectivise farms ended in the 1932 famine in which at least four million died." He was shipped off to the Gulag, where he died.
Eugenics, a once perfectly accepted science seeking "conscious evolution" grew out of humanitarian social concerns in the 19th Century with hereditary poverty, misery and social decay. Nearly all US states had eugenics laws and measures on the books at some point, but today the science is derided as "pseudo-science" and dismissed with lurid tales of wicked Nazi "experiments" and Auschwitz.
But a dirty little secret of the historically-illiterate politically-correct left, who now demonize eugenics, is that many of the people they like to think of as ideological forebears not only preached, but practiced eugenics. Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, was a staunch eugenicist (as well as a racialist), and her early birth control work, for which she was ruthlessly persecuted, was done in the name of "upbreeding." Many socialists in Europe and America were pro-eugenics, and even some communes, such as the socialist Oneida Community in upstate New York, practiced it.
Even after the "lessons of World War Two" socialist governments carried out eugenic practices. In Scandinavia, especially, sterilization of the mentally retarded, which to most people makes common sense, was carried out up until the 1970s by Sweden's Social Democratic government. Today, of course, this is seen as politically incorrect. But in fact the left has not lost it's love affair with human engineering. Racial mixing is merely another form of "eugenics" -- albeit closer to the Stalinist model -- seeking to transform humanity into one faceless, raceless mass.
It is interesting that while the pioneers of eugenics dreamed of eventual humans approaching Godhood through the science, Stalin, the greatest egalitarian, dreamed only of breeding slaves.
