Driving While Unlicensed

Letter from Doug the Rat

John,

Just read the article on "Do you own your car?" Really?

This is true. This is why we are required to have a license, to drive "someone elses car".

License = Permission to do something that is otherwise illegal or unlawful under the common law. One cannot use anothers property without permission under the common law.

There is a case a few years ago in California where the guy bought a car and got the dealer to give him the Title of Origin and he paid with gold coins. (exchanged property for property). After several tickets he got his day in court and the Judge said "yes, you mister jones can drive your car without a license, insurance, and registration, because you have clear Title of Origin. He still does.

Just thought you might like to know about this in case you didn't already.

Doug
